ABSTRACT Nasir, N. 1992. Identification fungicides screening on fruit rot of durian (Durio ziberthinus Murr.). An identification and control of fruit rot of durian Durio ziberthinus Murr. was conducted at Solok Research Institute for Horticulture from July to December 1989. The experimental desigen was completely randomized, 3 treatments (benomyl, mancozet, and control) and 3 replications. Applied dossages were 0.40 g/l of water and 2.50 g/l of water for banomyl and mancozer respectively as suggested on the label. Inoculum of pathogen was palnted at the central of potato dextrosa agar 24 hours later. Tissue paper (1 cm x 1 cm) soaked in fungicides for 10 minutes were put on the media at the distances of 1 cm from the margin of petri dish. The effect of fungicides on the growth of pathogen (Phytopthora sp.) was counted 24 hours after fungicides treatments during 7 days. The result shows that benomyl is more effective than mancozet. The growth of pathogen was 2.76 cm at benomyl treatment but at mancozet and control reached 4.86 and 4.72 respectively at the day of the seventh. Penel.Hort.Vol.5 No.1.1992.

ABSTRACT

Moehd. Baga Kalie dan M. Jawal Anwaruddin S.Vegetative propagation of durian by budding may produce varying results depending upon the microclimate, the scion and the operators skill with reference to the susceptible character of the root system to mechanical injury. In the dry season budding gives 40 to 50% successful result, while in the rainy season a result of 60 to 90% may be obtained. Apparently grafting compares favourably with the other methods of propagation to produce successful graftings. Based on this observation, a follow-up trial has been conducted, which gave the following result. Grafting (spliced and tongued approach grafting) gave no significant difference. The 8 ½ months old rootstock and out after 18 ½ weeks gave the highest percentage of successful grafting. Bulletin Penel. Horti. Vol. VIII(9); 37-42, 1980.
